In the early 1930s, Le Corbusier began to take an interest in urban planning. He gave suggestions on how you should exit or rebuild São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Montevideo (1929), Geneva, Antwerp and Stockholm (1933). He started at the same time seriously interested in furniture design, and designed several pieces of furniture, among them several well-known chairs.
During the second world war drew Le Corbusier back to the South of France and went on to paint and write. He published among other things, the so-called Charter of Athens, who was to become one of today's most important books on modern urban planning. From 1945 he developed a concept of "Unite d'habitation '(living unit). These were built first in Marseille and later also in eg Nantes and Berlin. Most of the 50-ies used Le Corbusier to plan and build Chandigarh - Punjab's new capital. In addition to the planning of the city designed Le Corbusier also all public buildings. During this time he also designed many buildings and a museum in Ahmedabad. In 1961-62 laid the Le Corbusier plan for the center of Berlin, but this was not implemented. His last project - the hospital in Venice - was never completed because Le Corbusier died of a heart defect before.
In 1952, he earned the Commander of the Legion of Honour.

Guiette House designed by Le Corbusier's in 1926 is considered one of his most unknown works. It's an early and classic example of the "International Style" and built in 1927 as the residence and studio of the painter René Guiette. The building has a cellar, ground floor, first and second floor, and a roof terrace on the third floor (at the back). The large window on the top of the front facade is from the studio of the painter. It was once inhabited by Belgian fashion designer Ann Demeulemeester who supposedly despised architecture tourists gazing at her house, although she had restored the house in 1985 by Georges Baines and built an extension next to it
